Residents have a spring in their step following fun outings and special celebrations

Residents have a spring in their step following fun outings and special celebrations

Our residents have had a great time exploring many of the fun things to do across Yorkshire recently.

Czajka Care Group’s managing director, Konrad Czajka, said: “With Covid-19 restrictions lifted and some warmer spring weather, we have been able to take our residents out for a host of fabulous daytrips.

“Residents liked the historical trip to Cliffe Castle Museum and Park in Keighley, and they also had a fabulous day enjoying the plants, shops and café at Woodbank Garden Centre, as well as a trip to Blackpool with some tasty fish and chips.

“Everyone also had a great time at Roundhay Park and discovered their inner explorer at Tropical World, where residents had an incredible journey through the rain forest, mangroves and desert seeing a wonderful array of animals. The café was also a highlight!

“Younger residents at Czajka Care Group’s specialist home, Staveley Birkleas, had an absolute blast at The Lion King. The worldwide theatrical phenomenon has been seen by over 70 million people and is now showing on our doorstep at the Alhambra in Bradford. Set against the majesty of the Serengeti Plains and to the evocative rhythms of Africa, Disney's landmark musical was a show to remember, and we were lucky to get tickets!”

In addition to all the outings, residents and staff have also been celebrating a number of milestones at Czajka Care Group. Konard explained: “We helped Betty Coglan, who lives at our Currergate Nursing Home in Steeton, celebrate her 100th birthday. With a fabulous party, big birthday cake and a card from the Queen, Betty had a great day, and it was a privilege to mark such a special occasion and welcome her family to celebrate with us all.

“We also helped Jill Giles, who works at our Fairmount Nursing Home in Nab Wood, Shipley celebrate a milestone work anniversary. Jill has been a loyal and dedicated team member for 25 years and she was delighted with her flowers and cake.”

The dedicated team at Czajka Care Group provides respite care, short-breaks, day care, full-time care and palliative care for people aged 65 and over at Fairmount Nursing Home and Brookfield Care Home in Nab Wood, Shipley and Currergate Nursing Home in Steeton and Beanlands Nursing Home in Cross Hills, between Skipton and Keighley.

Czajka Care Group also owns and runs Staveley Birkleas Nursing Home - the specialist nursing home in the North - which cares for young people from the age of 18 through to 64, who have a variety of needs including amputees, people with brain injuries, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Motor Neuron Disease, Huntington’s, Epilepsy and many other complex conditions.
